Assignment cycle

Three-week classroom workflow

Week 1: Launch

Introduce the focus standard, model how to unpack it, and show what a useful resource card looks like.

Week 2: Group work

Groups work asynchronously to connect the standard to the H-SS Framework, collect resources, and synthesize patterns.

Week 3: Present

Groups share findings, compare resource ideas, and surface questions before the next standards cycle begins.

Teacher notes

Use the workspace as a standards exploration assignment. Step 2 supports group thinking, while the class presentation uses Steps 1, 3, and 4 so groups share findings instead of teaching a full lesson.

How groups should collaborate

One student creates the group code; everyone else joins that exact code.
Before editing, click Load Latest.
After editing, click Save Now or use Continue.
If a warning appears, click Load Latest before saving again.

Beta test checklist

Teacher quick checks

Test with three browsers or devices using the same group code.
Have each student own a step, or have only one student edit at a time.
Back up backend/data/standards.sqlite before class.
Verify Save Now, Load Latest, presentation, and print on a student-sized screen.
